COACHING FOR ALL SCHOOL AGES

Our goal is to promote, encourage and improve the practice of table tennis in schools. We believe that schools and young people should embrace table tennis for long-term growth of the sport. Over the coming years, we intend to get table tennis offered to youths in more schools, clubs and communities.

Hewley Griffith Table Tennis Academy introduces table tennis to players in schools, clubs, and sports centres. Our table tennis coaches provide illustrations, lesson plans, posters of how to play different games. We use training manuals, skill rewards and a range of learning resources. Table Tennis is the perfect sport for inclusive schools where a full range of athletic abilities exist in all year groups.

As a non-contact sport, with a ball that weighs only a few grams, table tennis is practically a safe sport. Table tennis players don't run the risk of being hit by lightning or breaking bones, head banging or having a concussion. Table tennis is a safe sport for those who want a contentious game in fast motion without placing stress on ankles, knees and back. Our head coach, Hewley Griffith is a licensed and registered coach under the UKCC (United Kingdom Coaching Committee) and is on the registered list of coaches under the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation).

'What the schools say'

Hewley showed his skills and qualities - good communication, committed, punctual and a very warming character towards all members of staff, students and all those around him.

Eli Baraty, Head Coach
Harefield Table Tennis Academy

Hewley did some coaching in the PE department at my school, working with students who showed natural flare for the game. Hewley did wonders for their skill set and match play, with some of the students becoming well known and well feared in the borough.

Sola Awoberu, Head of PE
George Green’s School

He is a first class Table Tennis coach and Mentor to many of the children taking them from start to coaching them to National level. He is liked and respected in the Table Tennis Community

Philip Sangchin, Table Tennis Coach
